NAKURU
Related to country: Kenya

i only have about 5 minutes so this is gonna be short and sweet. I still love it here and everyone is still so friendly. tonight we go eat dinner at one of the members of J.U.M.P Nakuru. a couple days ago we had to make a presentation for Menengai highschool. We thought that winging it would be successful and they could never have telled that we were so unprepared. wow we were wrong. it was really embarrassing! but everyone laughed which made it more bearable. We sang molakai slide. compared to all the talented students who presented before us we were worse then like william hung. But it was a really good experience and i enjoyed meeting everyone. yesterday we went to the dump and bought these baskets these women made out of plastic bags they collected from the dump. They were really cool and pretty. We went with another youth group to the dump to. they were all really friendly and i made some new friends and got some addresses. Well my times up so laters guys.

hey everyone, i am thrilled we have finally made it to kenya after a 3 day plane trip. I'm still suffering from the side affects of the long trip but i am enjoying myself here so much. It's beautiful here. just like in the movies.
Right when we started our trip out of Nairobi to Nakuru we were greeted with these huge birds i have never seen or heard of in my life. They were so big i was surprised they could even fly. On our way to Nakuru we passed several zebra and antelope and i even saw a giraffe.
I was surprised at our similar everything is in kenya to the U.S. I did not expect to here Jesse McCartney music here. Or watch Arrested Development on the t.v while eating dinner. The wester culture seems very strong here but also there are so many differences. Driving on the roads was and interesting experience. It's not at all like the U.S with stoplights. I dont think i've seen one cross walk here. It makes the car rides a lot more fun actually.
Yesterday we met with our Nakuru J.U.M.P group. All of the members are so friendly and easy to talk to. I'm realy excited to get to know them more. Their leaders Dennis and Stanley are also extremely hospitable and have been so helpful. Today in a few hours we are expected to make a presentation to the members school on J.U.M.P and Hawaii and who we are. There's supposed to be at least 300 students watching! Hopefully I can just be on audio so i don't have to present. We don't even know what were going to do yet! hopefully we'll wing it convincingly.
So far i am having a great trip and i know it will continue to be amazing.
